Blog > Directional Change > Positive over Negative

Harmful… that’s what a constant barrage of negativity is to the mind, body, soul, and spirit. It’s crazy the amount of unmitigated absurdity I encounter on a near daily basis (you wouldn’t believe); so to add to it by purposely taking in, and posting about, the folly of the world (politics, current events, conspiracies, debauched lifestyles, etc.) makes little sense. There are so many needful things to learn, positive things; beautiful things, things I wish I knew in my younger years, and hope to share with others now. My primary goal is to help, to encourage, and to edify. It must be about building up, not tearing down. This was the golden mindset. I remember “Golden” … and I can’t forget.

This isn’t to say that I will never post anything negative (as in: anything against something); such articles serve as needful warnings and can be beneficial when put forth in moderation. Fact is, I have a few such posts already scheduled for the coming days and see no need to pull them. However, such articles cannot continue to be the norm of my content. It’s not a choice really. I don’t just really want to focus on the positive (as much as is in me), I absolutely need to do so (it’s like I’m drowning in the darkness lately, the negativity, the folly… it’s not worth it). I need Philippians 4:8 permanently imprinted and manifested in my life:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.” All God willing, strengthening, and enabling.
